What an incredible place. A proper old fashioned independent museum hidden off the main drag in Lyme Regis. Worth a visit with children of any age. The labour of love and ongoing project of Steve and Jenny Davies, this absolute treasure trove gives you history, palaeontology, zoology, natural history and dinosaurs aplenty. The most amazing collection of fossils from nearby and all over the world. The owner is full of information and passion and can answer any question you have with fascinating stories. Go visit and support this fantastic museum.
This is one heck of an amazing collection! Could spend hours here without the kids and woof, although the kids and our Dexter woof were really interested and enjoyed looking (and sniffing) at everything too. We will be back. Definitely recommend coming here. Steve (Owner) is very knowledgeable and happy to greet and tell stories to anyone who would like to listen.
Self funded museum. The owner is very knowledgable and witty. It a lovely museum with many fossil to see.
It is not an interactive museum if this is what you are looking for I would suggest you go somewhere else.
There is not a lot of space for children to run around but it is quite fun and educational.
Absolutely amazing. Sooo much to see. Alot to take in. Could spend an hour for sure but our 3 yr old wouldn't allow it. £20 for family of 4. Under 5s free. Much better than the only in Weymouth and half the price!! Owner is really friendly too.
A brilliant small, packed & fascinating museum. Well worth a visit.
Note. It's hidden on a back road - NOT on the main shopping street.
It's how I remember museums being in the past, when passionate people create something for others to learn from and enjoy. Not a big corporate place but somewhere where the owners love what they do. It has clearly taken a long time and effort to put all these exhibits together from all over the planet and it's very enjoyable.
A nice little shop too, if you want to buy fossils or mineral speicmens from pocket money prices upwards.
The owners are really lovely people and clearly care about their customers experience.
What a fab place! without this guys passion for fossils there would be no museum. Kept two kids and four adults entertained for a good hour or two and I really enjoyed looking at his great collection!
Absolutely packed full of fossils and other interesting finds. Really fascinating collection, we were all mesmerised. A gem of a museum.
A very interesting and unusual place. Extremely pleasant, generous and kind owner. He gave us very valuable souvenirs 🥰. Be sure to visit! I recommend! Children will be delighted. 🇺🇦💜🇬🇧
